Almost Skateboards was formed in 2003 by Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song.

Almost Skateboards diversify themselves from other companies, by using other materials such as resin, epoxy and carbon fiber inserts, along with a few other experimental methods. Almost has only released three skateboards that use carbon fiber; The über Light, Impact Support and the Double Impact. The über Light contains a carbon foam core, giving it the strength of a deck inside a deck. Also only 500 über light boards were made when they were first produced but now are regularly manufactured. The Impact Support uses die cut Carbon Fiber discs, inserted around the truck mounting areas to prevent pressure cracks in the traditional breaking points of a skateboard deck. Impact Supports are covered by a 30 day warranty. In 2010 Almost released the Double Impact series which have rings of carbon fiber accompanied by a top ply of their signature shock reducing carbon making for an extremely comfortable and durable ride that are backed up by their new 45 day warranty.

Almost is known for its lightweight products, and the technical maneuvers performed by the team riders.
